Poem On Mother’s Day In Sanskrit

सा माता, सदा स्नेहिता,
प्रेम्णा संयुक्ता चेतना ।
धर्मपत्नी, प्रियतमा,
प्रणतानां वर्तिनी धन्या ॥

नित्यं ध्यानं विनयशीला,
पुत्रदारार्यभावना ।
शक्तिः सर्वेषामपि धीरा,
विद्यादानाद्यया शिवा ॥

मातृदेवो भवः स्थाने,
सर्वदा तत्प्रियंवदी ।
सर्वस्या धर्मसम्पत्तौ,
सा माता शरणं गता ॥

मातुस्स्मरणमात्रेण,
सर्वदा सफला जगत् ।
प्रीतिं प्राप्तुं चेत्सर्वं,
माता सन्त्यज्यते क्वचित् ॥

अन्नं जलं शय्याशय्या,
त्रिवार्षिक्या प्रतिग्रहः ।
इति लोके न निर्देशः,
मातरस्तु सर्वदा ॥

Translation:
She is the mother, ever affectionate,
With love and consciousness intertwined.
The righteous spouse, most beloved,
Blessed is she, revered by all.

Constant in meditation, humble in demeanor,
With the noble sentiment towards family and kin.
Strength she possesses, a steadfast soul,
Bestowing knowledge and divine grace.

In the place of the divine, mother stands,
Always speaking what’s dear and right.
For the wealth of righteousness in all,
Mother is the refuge sought.

With the mere remembrance of mother,
The world prospers eternally.
To attain all love and success,
Mother is never forsaken.

Food, water, and the resting place,
Given thrice a day for three years.
Such is not a directive in the world,
For mothers, always, it is.
